Learn about our two main missions
Serving voters, educating citizens
We offer public programs to present unbiased nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues.
To conduct our voter service and citizen education activities, we use funds from the League of Women Voters Education Fund, which is a 501(c)(3) corporation, a nonprofit educational organization.
Nationally, we were founded by leaders of the women’s suffrage movement. Learn more about our 100+ year history on lwv.org.
Action and advocacy for a better democracy
We may be best known for voter registration and candidate forums, but we also offer programs on a variety of issues related to health, the environment, education, justice, and much more. We also participate in a formal process known as consensus. In this process, we study issues and take positions to advocate for or against particular policies in the public interest.
The League of Women Voters, a membership organization, conducts action and advocacy and is a nonprofit 501(c)(4) corporation.
The League of Women Voters of Murfreesboro/Rutherford County — present and engaged in our community.
The League stays engaged year-round, including face-to-face with our elected representatives.
From coffee meetups to candidate forums, LWV-MRC creates spaces for neighbors to connect and engage.
